Share Foundation

The SHARE Foundation aims to provide positive impulses to the social society in which Amarak operates.

SHARE aims to balance economic benefit with sustainability and human well-being. The Foundation considers having effective connections with the surrounding region as essential. Usually the allocation of the Foundation financial support is up to the local inhabitants through a yearly allocation decision process.

Coordinating platform

Where possible, the Foundation contributes to the socio-economic development of the regions in which Amarak is active. This becomes clearly visible, for example, when it comes to activities in the field of oil cleaning, stimulating the development of sustainable agricultural methods, soil-regeneration, crop improvement, reforestation and landscape restoration. The Foundation facilitates the building of regional network structures for local farmers and acts as a coordinating and facilitating platform to support actors, suppliers, institutes and businesses in their cooperation to reach the mentioned goals.

Food security, employment and education

Through its Foundation Amarak wants to contribute to:

  • regional and local sustainable agricultural developments so that basic (economic) needs can be met: food security, employment, local economic activity and reduction of climate change effects
  • optimal conditions for research and education
  • guidance and support of local farmers, helping to create a good living through sustainable farming practices and through solid structures for the offtake of crops and products.

Ángeles del Chocó

A good example of the social role that the SHARE foundation plays can be found in the Colombian province of Chocó. Amarak is active in Colombia in the field of renewable energy and spatial development. Its SHARE Foundation supports the Fundación Social Ángeles del Chocó, in particular its football academy. This targets children from 6 to 17 years old with a vulnerable background. Amarak Holding CEO Karel Aalbers has been appointed honorary chairman of the football school.
